Essex
Essex; the home of Hylands Park, Stansted Mountfichet Castle and Colchester Zoo. A place on the cusp of the capital of the England, an incubator of some of the worlds biggest stars: Jessie J, Russell Brand, Victoria Beckham and Olly Murs - to name a few. The stunning four star Down Hall Hotel in which I once worked at shown above, surrounded by 110 aches of woodlands and landscaped gardens build in 1322. The place echoes achievements, pride and international fame.
Yet what are we most famed for?
Since 2010, The Only Way is Essex has brought us cat fights, gossip, urban slang like 'reem' and 'creepy sick', love triangles and a lot of fake tan to our screens every week. Reaching an international audience that has made Essex a world known county, yet possibly not for the reasons we'd of liked it to be. When people come to visit Essex they expect to see a lot of glitter, orange, fake eyelashes and a 'vajazzle' if they're lucky; yet I'm afraid they are quite often disappointed. Beyond the TV screen and one small sector of Brentwood town in which these high-heeled Oompa Loompa's inhabit, there is very little fakery to Essex. We are a friendly, peaceful, down to earth southern county, and this true spirit will exceed its wrongful TOWIE expectations.
